Basalt, the primary component of oceanic crust, is a mafic volcanic rock. Renowned for its high compressive strength, low crushing value, strong corrosion resistance, and superior asphalt adhesion, it ranks among the optimal materials for constructing highways, railways, and airport runways. Beyond this, basalt serves as a preferred aggregate for lightweight concrete in high-rise buildings. Its vesicular structure and exceptional hardness enable significant weight reduction in concrete while maintaining structural integrity. Additionally, it provides acoustic insulation and thermal resistance, making it highly favored in global construction markets.
Basalt processing comprises three stages:
Coarse crushing with a jaw crusher
Medium-fine crushing with a cone crusher
Sand making
Large basalt chunks are uniformly fed from the silo via a vibrating feeder into the jaw crusher for primary crushing.
Crushed material is screened by a vibrating screen, with undersized particles conveyed via belt conveyor to the cone crusher.
Material transported to the cone crusher undergoes secondary crushing.
Processed output is screened by a circular vibrating screen; particles ≥40mm are recirculated to the cone crusher for re-crushing.
Particles <40mm enter the sand making machine for tertiary processing.
Materials ≥20mm are returned to the sand maker for further refinement.
Particles <20mm proceed to vibrating screening and packaging.
For purified basalt sand: Optional sand washer cleans the final product.
